"Meh, civilisations come and civilisations go, Lulu. Worse comes to worse, we just need to find something to do until either the mortals rebuild or the next dominant species evolves. But seeing the look on that psycho little Unicorn's face? That's something that lives forever!" -- Trollestia
What are you talking about? Celestia gets all sorts of screentime. She even dropped by for that Fall-weathered friends episode. An episode where she had ZERO Relevance. I think she can drop in to save an empire. I mean, unless she's busy?
Considering this is also a comic meant to poke fun of little errors in cartoons. Aren't you taking a hypocritical stance. Your critiquing my COMIC for critiquing a CARTOON. I mean the irony is delicious.
So, you critiquing a cartoon perfectly knowing why the writers played the episode and characters in a such a way and yet you still doing it? Well, speaking of being a facetious hypocrite... Also, you sound rather upset now. I'm sorry, didn't mean to hit the soft spot.
I'm not sure how making a comic about little plot holes makes me a hypocrite. I just think the whole "it's a cartoon" defence in response to a COMIC is senseless. I mean, you do understand what comic strips do, right? Poke fun, mock? Make a joke. You're essentially getting all miffed because I made light of an inconsistency.
Also, I'm not upset at all, why would this be a soft spot? your stance is illogical.
Well, of course if anything would go wrong, the sisters would intervene. They've already banished Sombra once, turning him into a ghost-like thing in the process, so you really can't wonder if they could do it again.
Plus, the Mane 6 bear the Elements of Harmony, which in themselves serve as a Deus Ex Machina. So it's not like they weren't completely vulnerable.
Obviously, Celestia knows how much potential Twilight has. This isn't trolling, this is training for a creature who may very well turn into her own alicorn/goddess one day.
Oh bullshit! Look at you trying to defend this. If Celestia/Luna were so capable of 'defeating' Sombra. Then why was he able to seal up the entire crystal pony civilization? Seems to me that the dynamic princess duo were unable/(or unwilling) to stop that from happening.
Now fast forward a 1000 years they have their chance to fix everything and instead of doing it right, banishing that evil fucker (TO THE MOON!) she grabs her OCD student slaps some "test" label on it, gives her a pat on the ass and sends her on a way. Essentially gambling an entire empire on a misguided field test?
It's a cartoon so I know it doesn't have to make perfect sense but thats what comics are for, pointing out little inaccuracies.
Christ! and this alicorn/goddess bullcrap again. Why wont this fandom let that pathetic little hope die. Has the series changed even one iaota since the season 1 premiere? The CMC's are still looking for their cutie marks. Rainbow dash is still trying to join the wonderbotls. Rarity is still an aspiring fashion designer and Twilight sparkle is still just a overenthusiatic magic student. You want me to believe that this show is somehow going to say shit all over its OWN cannon and fuck with the entire series to make TWILIGHT SPARKLE AN ALICORN? I mean there are just some theories that one cannot be a thinking human being an entertain. It's over, let it die please.
Well for one thing celestia can't send anyone to the moon
she only did it once will the elements of harmony
which she doesn't have became luna got butthurt that not everyone was looking at her night sky 24/7. Plus the show makes it clear that the princesses are not goddesses. powerful and ageless yes but not gods in fact it would seem celestia has been actively trying to remove that image
Ah i was mistaken on the leak after doing some research. Turns out it was just a troll. but there ARE images of Twilight as an alicorn floating around the net and storywise it does make sense as they have said that the series would end eventually. Perhaps she would become queen of ponyville so it wouldn't take her away from her friends. All I can say is that I could see it hapenning at some point and wouldn't be upset by it at all. to each their own.
First of all, take it down a notch, Scotty! There's no reason to shout or curse here.
Secondly, you have a point in that there are inconsistencies; no show is perfect. But there have been some progressions: Rainbow Dash is joining the Wonderbolt Academy this season, they ARE hinting that Twilight Sparkle has a certain "destiny," whether it's alicorn or not, and the characters have only gotten stronger, both in friendship and in abilities since the opening two-parter. It's a slow progress, but it's progress nontheless.
I don't know nor actually care if Twilight becomes an alicorn or not, it just seems like she's more than just a run-of-the-mill unicorn is all I'm saying. If she's not an alicorn, then so be it. There's no reason to get all huffy and yell "I'm right, you're wrong" at a total stranger voicing their theory or opinion.
My opinion stays though, that Celestia is not a troll. you can go ahead and think that, but as far as I'm concerned she's still growing as a character. So yes, she'll make mistakes, but she'll learn from them as will her students.
P.S.: The series writers actually look at what the fans say, which led to little hidden jokes for Bronies along the way (i.e., Fluttershy hiding in a tree). There's even the strong possibility that Derpy will get her own episode. So don't count out the fans' ideas just yet.
If you can not understand how stupid that theory is, simply by repeating it, then what words can I possibly share with you?
I'm sorry, Rainbow dash going to an academy is not "development" vague and absolutely bullshit hints from celestia are not "development".
Seriously the day Hasbro starts listening to fans is the day they lose their jobs. I'm not even sure the tree thing was a fan invention, the only thing the "fandom" can claim is Derpy hooves and that was a colossal mess now, wasn't it?
